About Me

The opportunity that most shaped who I am was pursuing fine art. Studying art is not encouraged or widely accepted in my culture. However, I am incredibly passionate about it, and my parents are very supportive. I studied fine arts at both A-level and GCSE. It was the best decision for me, the skills I have developed and the subject knowledge I have gained have been invaluable. Each of my art teachers has had a distinct influence on my style.

My first art teacher encouraged me to experiment with various media, including acrylic paint, printmaking, and sculpting clay, providing me with a strong foundation for developing my talent. She taught me how to analyze artwork and draw inspiration from other artists. This enabled me to channel inspirations into a final project, a sculpture of a bull. I aimed to convey the imagery of how young and easily breakable I felt despite my stubborn appearance. I used clay, a material known to be firm, much like a bull, but also delicate and prone to shattering, which reflected how I felt at 15 years old. I applied everything I had learned from her to create this piece.

The most recent art teacher I had was eccentric. He taught me to push boundaries, embrace imperfections as a natural part of the creative process, and use them as a source of inspiration. His teachings have had the most significant impact on my current art style. He deepened my understanding of colors and how to use black as a contrast, making other colors appear brighter in comparison. Similarly, he taught me the importance of pure white highlights in capturing depth and achieving a full spectrum of color.

I backpacked across eleven countries in Europe. Among all the places I visited, Florence left the most profound impact on me. I had the opportunity to visit historic sites, like the Uffizi Gallery, where I spent hours sketching art. Witnessing the transformative power of architecture, I became captivated by the intricate design of the Duomo and how it harmoniously blended with the surrounding landscape. I observed how the streets surrounding the cathedral transformed from bustling with tourists during the day to vibrant locals dancing the night away. Florence sparked a passion for architecture
